HUDSON, N.C. – Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute (CCCTI) is transforming how students access course materials through a new, more affordable delivery model. Beginning fall 2025, the college will launch an Equitable Access program that delivers day one content at a flat rate—part of a broader partnership with BibliU to modernize its course materials strategy and online campus store experience.
Students will have access to all course materials digitally via Moodle, CCCTI’s learning management system, before the first day of class. The BibliU platform also offers built-in accessibility tools—such as text-to-speech, highlighting, and note-taking—ensuring all students are prepared for success from day one.
While the physical campus stores will continue to offer CCCTI-branded gear and student essentials, course materials will now be distributed through a scalable, digital-first model. Designed to lower costs and generate sustainable auxiliary revenue, the new approach also enables CCCTI to meet growing enrollment demands across North Carolina—joining eight other community colleges in the state that have partnered with BibliU to do the same.
In addition to managing course material delivery, BibliU will take over operations of CCCTI’s online campus store on July 1. The site will offer easy access to print course materials, branded merchandise like apparel and memorabilia, and essential supplies such as office and art materials—supporting both academic needs and campus life.
“CCC&TI is one of those colleges that really walks the walk when it comes to putting students first,” said Dave Sherwood, CEO of BibliU. “They’ve made quality education accessible for years, and it shows—not just in the classroom, but in the way they’ve supported student talent over time, like with the Unifour Jazz Ensemble, which ended up earning national recognition. You can tell they genuinely care about their students and the broader community. That kind of commitment is exactly why we’re excited to partner with them—because together, we can make learning more affordable and open more doors for even more students.”
Dr. Mark Poarch, President of Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute, emphasized the importance of equitable access to learning resources: “At CCC&TI, we are committed to removing barriers to student success. By partnering with BibliU, we’re making it easier and more affordable for our students to access the course materials they need on day one. This digital platform not only reduces costs, but also ensures that every student—regardless of their background—has the tools they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond.”
